Musicality and rhythmics
Let’s get dancing to the music, not the moves. We will touch the most popular rhythm patterns to adjust to the Timba songs parts. We will use our bodies to play the music and understand “la manera” of timba and salsa dancing. The beat & bounce along with the names of instruments will be explained in a friendly manner so that you will never be overwhelmed by Timba. As the result, you’ll have the knowledge to play around with the music instead of counting.
Who is it for?
The class is open-level. It should be interesting to all but it does require some comfort in movement and rhythm. We recommend at least having completed the Beginner Level or equivalent.
The Teacher
Ira Smereka
From Kharkiv and Dnipro cities of Ukraine, and more than 16 years devoted to Cuban dances, she has given all the love to the music and Ukrainian folk dancing experience to education and teaching of timba.
Ran the timba dancing studio for 8 years, 5 years of lady style projects, 2,5 years of mobility training for dancers.
She involved herself in organization of live timba and salsa dura concerts in Kharkiv, lady-style classes along with rhythmic & musicality events with the musicians in Dnipro.
Her inspiration: Diana Rodriguez, Yeni Molinet, Madeline Rodriguez, Ismaray Aspirina, Yusimi Moya, Cirenia Cantin, and many others.
