Berlin’s regulations finally allow us to give couple classes for fixed partners. We know it’s been a while, and we want to get back to teach from we have left things. So in order to get you all up to speed, we are now offering two Salsa boot camps.
All are welcome, it can even be a great quick entry for you if you want to jump on the Son Moderno train and join our course that will restart in September. Keep in mind that Son Moderno usually requires some experience in couple dances, and since it’s a Bootcamp we will go through the material faster than we usually do, so we don’t recommend inexperienced dancers to join the Bootcamp.
We will also give you some time to practice as we are aware that social dance is currently severely limited.
Son Moderno Bootcamp
In this bootcamp we will go through the elements that we have learnt so far in the Son Moderno Course, and give you some time to practice and remember everything.
If we have extra time and then we could also teach you the Lateral version of the moves. Some of you might know it from a previous course, but for the rest of you it will be new material that we did not intend to teach in the current course.
Son Cubano is traditional couple dance that evolved in Cuba during the 50’s. It was the main form of dance that Salsa has evolved from, yet Son tends to keep focus on Elegence in its movement and leading.
Son Moderno is an evolution of the traditional Son through the structural integration of elements of different dances. It is a modernization, a transformation of the Son to the modern times. The basic structure and the roots of the Son are kept intact, but elements are added. Also important is that in Son Moderno we aspire to see leading and following as 50:50 interaction between man and woman and we have a focus on effective leading and following. It provides new dynamics that correspond also to the evolution of the music itself.
Ido & Maria are certified Son Moderno teachers. They have studied the dance and the teaching methodologies directly from the creators of the dance style – Danger & Yunaisy. They have also focused and taught Son Cubano in the last years on and they bring you their own personal experience & knowledge to the table.
