Rumba Yambu – Foundation

The Dance

Rumba Yambú is one of the three main styles of Cuban Rumba, alongside Guaguancó and Columbia. It is considered the oldest and slowest form, often characterized by its smooth, sensual movements and a rhythm that emphasizes elegance and playfulness.

The dance often depicts a courtship between a man and a woman. However, it is much more sensual in nature, and the verbose Vacunao of the Guaguanco is not present in the dance.

The Course

Within ten classes we will go through important steps & elements in Yambu, and put a large focus on the body movement that play a big part in the dance.
