Timba Partnerwork Project

What is Timba?

“Dancing TImba” often refers to dancing TImba in the most contemporary way – free, stylish, full of personal flavor, and more than anything – attuned to various music styles that compose Salsa. You can read more about Timba here.

The project

In this project, we will take on song, master a choreography on it, and potentially make a video clip by the end of the course!

It will be fun, and we will have a great video to remember. But from our experience, the intensive nature of the project can help you grow a lot as a dancer in a short amount of time.

What to expect?

  • A Timba routine including partnerwork, styling, and solo work.
  • A lot of practice and personal attention for corrections.
  • Teamwork and group dynamics that will support you in the process.
  • Filming day for the project.
  • Important to say that the project is 8 weeks. Additional classes could be planned per the group demand, and the day of filming will be done separately (and cost like a class). Additional costs could include a professional videographer and costumes (but this will be determined with the group)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be in the video?
While we encourage you to have a goal to set your aim to, it’s not mandatory.

What level should I be?
We recommend at least a solid Intermediate level. The choreography will technically be more adjusted to our Advanced level, but since you will have a longer time to invest in short choreography with some determination, an Intermediate level should be sufficient.

I am unsure if I want/can commit to the entire project
It’s up to you; the course will be progressive. So the first 2-3 classes should be fine to drop in, but later on, we will work onthe details. You can also drop out at any point, no hard feelings. We expect to form an idea of the group in the later stages of the project.
