Pachanga

Pachanga is a style of music and dance that emerged around 1959 in Cuba. The music can be described as “happy go lucky” and so are the steps of the iconic dance.

The dance today is a mix of the original Cuban dance and development that merged into in the United States where Boogaloo and other dances of the era left the mark.

In this course, we will work on the basics of Pachanga as well as on some of its most iconic movements. These moves are easily merged into Salsa and are commonly used for styling.

Requirements:

We recommend having some experience with Salsa before, but not much more is beyond basic steps, and perhaps the right turn. The dance requires a level of coordination, so if you feel like the stepping, and tapping to the rhythm of Salsa is still challenging perhaps Pachanga will be a challenge you want to leave for later.
