Rutinas & Style

it's not just a party!

Practice and get to know your friends

Salsa & Friends is a Salsa practica meet-up where you can practice in a friendly safe zone, receive feedback from La Candela teachers board, and get to know your fellow dancers in an after-party meetup.

All are welcome! You don't have to be a student of our school, and all levels are welcome.

Practice

Practice Salsa with people that want to practice!
We choose the right music for you to grow - that means usually easygoing music, and music from the repertoaire of Cuban dances we teach in La Candela.

GEt Feedback

Usually we have at least one teacher around the party. It's your time to questions or reminders. You can ask for a dance and/or feedback. It's the sort of stuff we normally give only in private classes!

after-party meetup

Dancing is all about connection—but on the dance floor, we don’t always have time to truly get to know one another. After the practica, we’ll often head out together for a drink and a chat: a relaxed opportunity to connect beyond the dance and turn familiar faces into real friendships.

Please be mindful - There is no class

There is no intro class to the party, and learning the basics of the dance takes more than the few minutes we can afford each student with.

Rutinas are a combination of fundamental partnerwork moves - in this class will be in building a good flow, improving your confidence, and adding style and flavor to your dance. You can think of it as going to the gym for Salsa.

These series of workshops are highly useful for those taking the Salsa Academy program as it complements the program and allows you to focus on the bigger picture rather than small details, and we often use elements we were teaching lately so you will have an opportunity to practice them.

We have two level for the series.

Improver+ is recommend for our Improver and Technique Foundation students. You are expected to know the basics of the dance: Enchufala, Dile Que No, Guapea, Right Turn and ideally have a little experience in variations of these.

Intermediate+ is for all levels from Intemediate. It can also be frequented by Technique Foundation students but please be aware that the Rutina may include fundamental moves for Salsa Cubana like: Exhibela, Vacilala, or Coca Cola. More advanced dancers will appreciate the transitions, and the styling challenge.
