Son Cubano Moderno – The Dance
Son Moderno is a contemporary evolution of Son Cubano. Like the traditional Cuban Son, it is an elegant couple-focused dance, but it adds a layer of structure, technique, styling, and sensuality that can help Soneros connect to contemporary Son Songs (such as Leoni Torres).
The Course
In this course we will continue to explore some fundamental elements of Son Moderno, and continue to develop beautiful and elegant routines that will help you feel more comfortable with dance and flow with it.
Requirements
Knowledge of the fundamentals of Son Moderno is expected. That includes: Preparo, Parada, Blockeo, and Turns (Left & Right). In Montuno and Base position. Followers should be familiar with the required arm work for the dance.
- While you may try, knowledge of Son Cubano Tradicional alone is not likely to be enough for the course. But of course it can be helpful.
The Teachers
This style of dancing was initiated with Danger & Yuniasy, a power couple from Spain, and we are certified teachers of their style.
